FAQ

  • Where is Escape Old Towne located? We are located in awesome Old Towne Petersburg, Va surrounded by some awesome restaurants, historical sites, breweries, and a great night life. Our address is 104 N Sycamore, Petersburg, VA 23803 and sometimes parking can be a challenge, but no worries we have additional parking in the back of our building for our guest off N Union Street (Look for the parking signs). Come enjoy the experience of Escape Old Towne and enjoy a fine night out on the town.
  • When are we open? We are open to the public:
    • Monday & Tuesday – Closed
    • Wednesday & Thursday – 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
    • Friday: 4:00 PM-10:00 PM, 
    • Saturday: 1:00 PM-10:00 PM, 
    • Sunday: 1:00 PM-7:00 PM.
    • Our corporate/private party hours are 9:00 AM-4:00 PM Monday-Friday.
  • How much does it cost?  The cost for our public games which run Tuesday through Sunday is $25 per player.  $22 for military members, college students and seniors over 65.
  • We have a larger group than the capacity for each game. How can you accommodate us? If you don’t see enough available slots that you can buy online, you can call us at 804-203-5434 in advance and we will attempt to accommodate your group. The further out the better so we can get you your right day/time slots.
  • Is this scary? – Not at all, but we may have a few things inside our rooms that will catch you off guard.
  • How many folks can fit in a room? –  It varies, but most rooms will hold between 8-10 people.
  • Are cell phones allowed in the room?  Yes. However we have a strict policy of “No video or camera shots” while inside the rooms. We want everyone’s experience to be genuine and not spoiled in any way. Plus, we want you to get immersed into the game, phones are not needed. Use your mind.
  • Is there anything else I should bring? A good mental attitude ready to attack and win the game and glasses if needed for reading.
  • How long does this take? Every group will have 60 minutes to solve all the clues and puzzles within the room. Please show up 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled game time to sign any disclaimers that are needed, familiarize yourself with some our locks that you may encounter in each room and play some games and stimulate your brain before entering.
  • How does the ticketing work? Tickets are purchased online. Online bookings are made securely through Stripe and require Credit or Debit Card information at the time of purchase. Escape Old Towne does not receive your credit card information in any way, only our credit card processor Stripe does. Each game has a maximum number of tickets that can be purchased for each session.
  • Are tickets refundable? No. Tickets are non-refundable upon purchase. You can however, change the date and time of your booking if it is more than 48 hours in advance.
  • May I purchase a ticket for someone else? Yes, please indicate the appropriate player’s name in booking information before check out.
  • How far out can I purchase a ticket? Sessions are available for bookings 3 months in advance. If you are interested in a date farther than 3 months out, please call us for assistance.
  • Can I purchase all of the tickets for my group at once? Yes. That is the best way to ensure your group can stay together in the same room. Select the maximum amount of tickets available for the room. The session will then be under one person’s name.
  • Can we play the same room more than once? Yes, however, for all guests, we ask that the puzzles remain a mystery to all new teams so please do not spoil the fun and share the answers with anyone. If you succeed, try your skills in another room!
  • Is there an age limit? Yes, the suggested age to play the game is 11 years old or more.  If you are under the age of 15, we REQUIRE that you are accompanied by an adult. The games are difficult and created with the intent to stump players!  
  • Is it possible to purchase Escape Old Towne Gift Cards? YES!  You may purchase gift cards in any denomination on site at our 104 N Sycamore St, Petersburg, VA 23803.  The gift card recipient can book their experience whenever they wish! You can also purchase gift certificates online by using the link at the top of this page.
  • Is there a minimum number of players required?  No, but if you could have others assigned to your room to play the game with you. This is a great way to interact with others and make a friend along the way.
  • I am purchasing fewer tickets than maximum available for that room. Does that mean the remaining slots are filled by other guests? Yes. You may be placed into a group with other guests if your team does not fill the maximum.
  • What if my group and I want the whole room to ourselves? Easy! If you want the whole room, you can buy out all the extra seats, or give us a call and we can set up a private event for you and your team Monday thru Friday. 
  • What happened to the available room on the reservations page! Our reservation system will keep up to the minute reservations and will update as soon as you book your room. Our suggestion is to buy all of your tickets for your group at one time to ensure your group can stay together.
  • Do you use gift vouchers? – Yes we do. Here is the link to buy gift certificates – great for birthdays, graduation gifts and holidays.
  • Do you have corporate/private party packages?  Yes!  Details coming soon.

   All of our Escape Rooms are wheel chair and handicap accessible.

Please call us in advance so we can better prepare the room and make it more accommodating to your needs.

If you are going to be late in getting to your Escape Room, please call and attempt to re-schedule. We highly recommend that you and your entire party are at the Escape Room 15 minutes prior to your start time. If you are running late for your scheduled time, We will begin your Escape Room experience after a 5 minute grace period, i.e. If your room is to begin at 7:00 PM and you are running late and have not coordinated with us for a later time, at 7:05 PM your room time of 1-hour will begin, and when you show at the Escape Room, you will get a briefing and enter the room with the remaining time left. This is the best way to keep the later all Escape Room players on their time schedules.
